Privacy Policy

1. Who is responsible

Ubob Alex Mboma, c/o IP-Management #12011, Ludwig-Erhard-Straße 18, 20459 Hamburg, Germany, operates SenchoGo and is the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: info@senchogo.com.

2. What we collect and why

• Display name and a random profile ID — to personalise the app. Stored on your device. Legal basis: contract.
• Learning progress, Favorites, review schedule and onboarding answers — to provide the service. Stored on your device, and in our cloud only if you turn on backup. Legal basis: contract.
• Google account email and ID (only if you link Google for backup) — to restore your progress on other devices. Legal basis: contract.
• Subscription status (plan, renewal date, provider reference) — to unlock paid features. Legal basis: contract.
• Usage events and feedback you send (e.g. lessons opened, errors) — to fix problems and improve lessons. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
• Technical data (IP address, device and browser type) — for security and to deliver the app. Legal basis: legitimate interests.

We never receive or store your card details.

3. Who we share data with

• Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, which sells the subscription and handles payments, invoicing, tax compliance and subscription management under its own privacy policy.
• Service providers that host our app, database and file storage, and generate voice audio (the audio service only receives Japanese phrase text, never personal data).
• Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.
• Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where needed, and authorities where required by law.

4. International transfers

Some providers may process data outside the EU/EEA. Where they do, we rely on adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses to protect your data.

5. How long we keep data

Data on your device stays until you delete it or your account. Cloud backups and subscription records are kept while your account exists and deleted when you delete your account, except records we must keep for legal or tax reasons. Usage events are kept for up to 24 months and then deleted or anonymised.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your data, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can delete your account and all data directly in Profile, or email us. We reply within one month. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

7. Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls, and per-user data separation to protect your data.

8. Cookies and local storage

SenchoGo uses only essential browser storage to remember your profile, progress and sign-in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
